I've worked with IOhannes for many years and definitely recommend him for pkg-multimedia. Many if not most of gem's dependencies are maintained by pkg-multimedia already, like ffmpeg and libgavl, so I think gem and IOhannes would be good fit. And pd-zexy goes with the pd-* libraries I just ITPed and will start uploading this week.
