That problem would be directly solved at build time without any change to sources. In Debian it is managed by a binNMU, I don't think it is different in Ubuntu. But for that mapnik is currently not under DebianGis umbrella, but individually maintained by -- Dominic Hargreaves <[email protected]> Mon, 19 Oct 2009 23:28:32 +0100 As you can see, it is not updated since a few months, I'd suggest you to contact him by email and verify what are his programs about the package.
