Subject: gis-osm: recommends nik4 which is not in unstable
Package: gis-osm
Version: 0.0.22
Usertags: package-relations package-relations-recommends
Severity: wishlist

Dear maintainer(s),

I noticed that package gis-osm recommends nik4, which is currently not
available in unstable.

See:

For details on when it was deleted, bug number, etc.

Basically, it was removed in 2025-11

Would it make sense to remove or update it?

Thank you for your time,

PS[0]: I am developing a tool to detect such issues:
https://salsa.debian.org/carlespina/check-relations . Reports are
manually reviewed before submission. If you would prefer not to receive
such reports (for specific packages, all of your maintained packages,
etc.), please let me know. Any other feedback is welcomed as well.

This is expected for blends tasks, those only get uploaded shortly before the
freeze.

Packages get added and removed in git during the development cycle.

Please don't bother filing these bugreports without patches to the current
state of git.

See:

Thank you for your time,

Please stop wasting both your own and yours, send patches if you want to
improve the blends tasks.

Kind Regards,

Bas
