** No longer affects: pybliographer (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: routeplanner (Ubuntu)
** Description changed: gnome-python and pyorbit have been removed from Debian Testing because it is an old GNOME2 library that hasn't been maintained in years. It will take some time for those packages to be removed from Debian Unstable, but I don't think we should ship gnome-python in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I am filing this bug now in particular to provide early notice for the Ubuntu-specific packages firmware-tools and gnome-activity-journal. Both of those projects were abandoned upstream years ago. https://github.com/dell/firmware-tools https://code.launchpad.net/~gnome-zeitgeist/gnome-activity-journal/trunk This bug depends on LP: #1739797 (removal of gnome-python-desktop). (Therefore, I am not adding tasks here for packages on that list.) $ reverse-depends src:gnome-python Reverse-Recommends ================== * colorname (for python-gnome2) * lottanzb (for python-gnome2) * sbackup (for python-gconf) Reverse-Depends =============== * firmware-tools-gui (for python-gnome2) * gco (for python-gnome2) * ghextris (for python-gnome2) * gjots2 (for python-gnome2) * hamster-applet (for python-gconf) * hamster-applet (for python-gnome2) * labyrinth (for python-gconf) * postr (for python-gconf) * postr (for python-gnome2) - * pybliographer (for python-gnome2) * pyrenamer (for python-gconf) * python-gnome2-desktop-dev (for python-gnome2-dev) * python-sugar-toolkit (for python-gconf) * revelation (for python-gnome2) - * routeplanner-gnome (for python-gnome2) * sbackup-gtk (for python-gnome2) ** No longer affects: lybniz (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Debian/Ubuntu Games Team, which is subscribed to ghextris in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1739800 Title: Please remove gnome-python from Ubuntu Status in firmware-tools package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in gco package in Ubuntu: New Status in ghextris package in Ubuntu: New Status in gjots2 package in Ubuntu: New Status in gnome-python package in Ubuntu: New Status in guake-indicator package in Ubuntu: New Status in labyrinth package in Ubuntu: New Status in postr package in Ubuntu: New Status in pyorbit package in Ubuntu: New Status in pyrenamer package in Ubuntu: New Status in revelation package in Ubuntu: New Status in sbackup package in Ubuntu: New Status in vusb-analyzer package in Ubuntu: New Status in x-tile package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: gnome-python and pyorbit have been removed from Debian Testing because it is an old GNOME2 library that hasn't been maintained in years.
