Are we really looking at the same package? If you look at http://icculus.org/airstrike/airstrike-pre6a-src.tar.gz it clearly contains /data/sound. For the second bug: if you run the game via airstrike --option it says: "All options are currently given in the config files, located at $HOME/.airstrikerc and $PWD/airstrikerc. Quitting". If this is not true, please patch the airstrike.c with correct string. Alternatively, the file could be copied by the game at start. Copy /etc/airstrikerc to ~/.airstrikerc and edit settings. You will be surprised to see them work.
