Just wanted to mention that Bug #743265 has regressed in Ubuntu 13.10:
* menus are swallowed by menu bar, but cannot be used there.
* UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= workaround works.
launchpad did not allow me to reopen the bug (or assign a new Ubuntu
release that has the bug yet again).
