Ogre depends on boost 1.49, so of course it might be not correctly
linked against boost 1.53. However, Ogre 1.7 is already deprecated, you
might use to Ogre 1.8.

Title:
Ogre is not linking correctly against Boost 1.53

Status in “ogre” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Dear OGRE Ubuntu package maintainers,
it appears that the Ogre package is missing linking against
libboost_system.so.

This is an upstream bug which has been reported here for instance:
  http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=70982&p=463951#p463641

In practice, it prevents packages depending from Ogre to compile. See the
ViSP package
  here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/visp/2.7.0-2
  and the buildlog here:
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/138660643/buildlog_ubuntu-saucy-i386.visp_2.7.0-2_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz

This is building fine on Debian Sid so I guess a Ubuntu specific patch
  may cause this (--as-needed?).
