I'm trying to compile version 3.16.2 and configure is pulling the
following errors. I've searched via synaptic and installed a lot of dev
packages that may be related but unable to proceed any further.
The errors are:-

I'm trying to compile the latest stable version as the deb packages are
out of date and evolution throws errors.
See my previous e-mail.
I have been using evolution for more than ten years and would like to
continue using it.
I would like to help but have no idea how to prepare deb packages.
