Turns out my bug has already been reported upstream, and has been marked as a duplicate of:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=671437 That bug has been marked as resolved, but the fix is not yet in a released version. IHMO you are going to have to either move to the new version or backport the fix, as this is pretty serious. I can not read the headers (to, subject, etc) on any email, nor can I look at the source of any email.
