Package: evolution
Version: 3.0.3-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
I've an issue regarding the evolution package that is installed on my
system. I've an IMAP-Account that evolution can't connect to. I get
the error:

Error while Scanning folders in 'IMAP server <hereismyIMAP>

You must be working online to complete this operation

This happens even with POP-Protocoll. I've checked the connection with
icedove, too. With icedove I get a connect to the IMAP system.

To investigate in this behaviour I tried to start evolution from a
clean environment. For this I deleted the following folders in my
homedirectory:

.local/share/evolution
.config/evolution
.gnome2/accels/evolution
.cache/evolution

After restarting my system I could configure my connection from scatch
again: I got the same behaviour.

After this I tried to get more information with strace and the debug
option:

strace -o evo_trace.log evolution --debug evo_debug.txt

My debug output is as follows:

** (evolution:6353): CRITICAL **: categories_icon_theme_hack: assertion
`filename != NULL && *filename != '\0'' failed

(evolution:6353): evolution-network-manager-WARNING **:
network_manager_check_initial_state:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files

(evolution:6353): evolution-mail-importer-WARNING **: Broken line

The trace output is more than 5 MB large. So I won't attach it to this
report. When you want it I'll send it to you.

I can't handle with these lines. Can you help me to look for the cause
of the issue?

Many thanks in advance from Germany
Uwe

That means either you've set yourself to offline mode (see the icon on
bottom left) or network-manager is considering the platform offline.
Either you don't use NM or you configure it correctly to be online.

You might want to take a look at
