About that one, you may workaround it by editing contents of
$HOME/.local/share/evolution/categories.xml (or maybe
$HOME/.evolution/categories.xml) and fixing the missing path for the icon of
the "birthday" category.
With my french locale, I had to make it :
<category a="Anniversaire"
icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/evolution-data-server/category_birthday_16.png"
searchable="1"/>
