We can remove quilt and thus go back to dpatch (which I would consider a regression, but I do not care a lot), but I would disagree if we direct patch the sources (i.e. without dpatch/quilt/$WHATEVER), because in this case we will loose the patch tracking support: http://patch-tracking.debian.net/package/clisp/ Since I use CLISP everyday with StumpWM, I can fully take care of it, if needed.
