These only appear on upgrade from -3 to git head, so you have to test it that
way.
I fixed this problem by loading the default values for all new options,
when upgrading from one of the broken versions (0.98.1+dfsg-3,
0.98.1+dfsg-1+deb7u2, 0.98.1+dfsg-1+deb6u2).
I have tested only upgrade from 0.98.1+dfsg-3 and this gives now the
same configuration files as a fresh installation of the fixed version.
