try using an email client (like thunderbird, outlook, etc) on that machine and see if you can send out mail.
otherwise, get another smtp server.
i had pegasus mail's mercury server a few years ago.
i thought i had locked down the settings but my work network people said it was being used for spam relay.... that ended that experiment.
i am now thinking of using a class to send out email via external SMTP server...
