Hi, I'm not a mail server expert, but I use JES (Java Email Server) on a Win2000 Server with PHP4 (and I had tested it on XP), only as a local mail server. It works fine, it is very simple to install and to use,but the advanced functions, if any, seems not to be documented. But I think it is a very good mail server for a newbie. See http://www.ericdaugherty.com/java/mailserver/ for more. Just one thing : JES have some problem to discover your DNS server it you are running a non-english version of Windows. See the documentation and the latest mails on the mailing list to resolve the issue.
