You can upload the following page and test quickly ------------------------------------- <?php phpinfo(); ?> ------------------------------------- upload the above line of code to something like test.php and invoke it with your browser http://www.yourdomain.com/test.php If you get a page of useful information about the php that is installed on your server, then you are set. If you get the same line back as plain text, you might want to give your provider a call.
