I'm having a similar problem. I have PHP 4.0.6, IIS 4, NT 4, and Service
Pack 6a. My sessions were working just fine until I installed SP 6a plus
security patches for the stupid Code Red.
I'm sure it's permissions, but as you did, I checked and everything looks ok
to me. IUSR_<server> has read and write access to "sessiondata" and still
nothing.
Please let me know if you solve this somehow. I'll keep looking and let you
know if I find something that could help.
