Hi,
I m Using W2K Server SP2 and PHP404 Parser. It's working perfeclty, until
not ....
My error message is "PHP violation 01A7C20A"
!?!
Thanx
Slow down there Tex!
People are messing with it so they can LEARN. Everyone has to start at
ground zero and work from there, and if you aren't able to be compassionate
for those who are starting out fresh, then you should probably not be part
of a list such as this. These lists are here to help people who are
learning PHP, designing with PHP and even people who are professional Web
Administrators looking to move to PHP. There's room for everyone. Why
doesn't this deal with PHP? Could you not use speel checking through PHP?
Oh yeah, of COURSE you can! Hmmm... seems related to me!
Now I'm not trying to start a retarded flame war, but please... if you wanna
keep it REAL, keep it helpful, don't use this as a forum to attack newbies
or ANYONE with questions, that's what we are (mostly) here for. If you
catch someone advertising, and you want to flame them... feel free. If
someone asks a question that you don't deem worthy of your inbox, just
delete it next time.

Could it realy be that no one really cares?
I thought this was a PHP mailing list, not a Pspell mailing list!
I have seen all kinds of special interest questions and MySQL
questions that do not pertain directly to PHP. People learn to
put a few HTML tags in a txt doc and call themselves "web programmers".
If you do not know anything about RDBMS then why are you messing with
it?
Keep it real.
(Keep it PHP)

Christian,
I've been curious of this question, and this is what I have found. I think
your questions is excellent, especially for the windows list.
- it seems that the PHP-WIN distribution does not have a pspell module
(php_pspell.dll) included. With php4win down, I can't tell for sure why...
- I went to CVS to look at the souce for pspell. So, in thery, and this is
where I'm walking into uncharted territory, we could compile one for win32.
However, the module requires the pspell libraries which can be found at
http://pspell.sourceforge.net. But, I couldn't find Win32 compiled binaries.
I found the source, and so again, maybe we can compile for Win32?
- I also didn't find anything in CVS for a pspell library pre-compiled, such
as the one for the php_fdf.dll, FdfTK.dll (FDF toolkit), that is distributed
with the Win32 release. So, I'm thinking we're screwed here.
I'm hoping this will open a good discussion as to where the heck the Windows
PHP peopo kan lern two spel. :p

Thank you, BTW, everyone, for not calling my stupidity
mispelling "spell" as "speel". Mispelling "spell" is certainly a
terrible way to make your point on a topic about pspell or
aspell. *sigh*
Jesse
My apologies to all offended.
The point I was trying to make that if you don't have time to read
through a manual, then why should you try to waste the time of others
to get them to TELL you what’s in the manual?
As a busy professional, I know the value of time.
And the value of a good "speel" checker.

Gee sunker, do you think that I am stupid enough to
download an attachment with a virus?
I know that I have helped a lot of people out on this list
and just one little comment asking people to PLEASE read the
manuals before asking on line and this is the thanks I get!
I don't know how many times I have read it in other peoples
emails when helping someone out, read the manuals, but I come
out and say it and I get flamed.
I've got better things to do than play with you little script
kiddies.

I agree completely - spend time trying to work through it yourself - it's
not fair on those who have more knowledge than others to be constantly
bugged by people who are starting out.
When I started using PHP after Perl, I got some sample scripts and worked it
from there. I've found that most things can be worked from the manual (or
searching functions on-line @ php.net and reading through the
user-comments), usually does the trick. I've used this list in the past when
I can't get my head round things after reading the manual, doing a quick
search in google.
I think that as long as people don't use this list as "first resource" then
everything will be fine.

Hi,
Maybe you are pressing too hard on PHP/ISAPI by processing every
html page via PHP.
Try to run PHP ISAPI in either "Pooled processes" or "Isolated Process",
not in "IIS process" and see if the problem goes away.
You can also try to use CGI version of PHP, or if you'd like to try
something new, try my http server:
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA027031/orenosv/index_en.html
The best thing, though, is go back to a unix server.

Hrrrm, seems I can't get the unlink command to work, is there a better way
to delete files in Win2k? Always errors out that it can't find the file.
I'm assuming this is an NT Permissions issue, even though the files are set
full control by the user IIS/PHP is running as. Another note, these files
were written to the drive using PHP, so I don't understand why it's having
issues removing them. Any suggestions on the most "stable" or "secure" way
to do this?
Ryan
If you have the file still open or another process (such as another
user) has the file open it will not delete it. Probably the best
solution (if it's not critical that the file be deleted) is to just
supress the errors by using the @ symbol like this:
@unlink("filename");

Is there an admin on this list?
While a little latitude in off-topic postings is tolerable, this has gone too
far.
Wake up, please..
