I've just been through 8 hours of trying to compile 5.2.5 to work with Apache 2.2.8. It choked on loads of things. I think there is an error in 'configure' that was supposedly fixed in 5.2.3 but has crept back into 5.2.5Eventually I decided to get 5.2.4 and build with the same configure options. With 5.2.4 everything worked immediately out-of-the-box!
