Im having the same issue, and am in the same position being a designer
rather than a techie. 

For both the original poster and I, what do we do with the libmysql.dll
file ?

libmySQL.dll is located to your MySQL directory . eg. 
c:\mysql\bin\libmySQL.dll.

You can use that one.
