What you don't see is the constant stream of spam attacking our mailservers 24x7. In the last 6 days, we've blocked just under *half a million spam messages* from the lists machine. If you've seen a few here in that time, we're sorry, but sometimes things slip through; we adapt our filters and life goes on.

Given that PHP is an entirely volunteer driven project, I think we're doing a pretty good job. I've personally spent more than a few very late nights troubleshooting problems with the mail (and other) servers; those hours are on my time, given gladly to the PHP project.

If you think I'm not doing a good job, that's your opinion; you get what you pay for.

Well I don't want to start a fight but there must be something you're
missing out on because all the other good computer support mailing
lists I've subscribed to don't have this kind of a spam infestation
problem

This list recieves soooo much spam it's outrageous...and I'm yet to
see any moderator or admin action against it, all this spam really

one of the moderators or admins would take the initiative to block the
spam and set ground rules making it unacceptable on this mailing list

You are not going to see any admin action sent to the list. We have
been adding filters and fixing things daily. If we didn't you'd see a
hell of a lot more problems.
