How about copying the mysql-staff into <php-path>/ext/mysql and do ./config --with-myql.... I added this to my configure script:
--with-mysql=/usr/local/include/mysql
...
I tried changing that to: --with-mysql=/usr/local/include/ thinking
maybe it was modifying the path, but still no go.
I also upgrade to 4.3.10 few days ago but mysql was installed before - I've no problems with it.
