I am building php 4.3.7 on x86(athlon) freebsd 4.9. Php builds fine, however the 'make install' script dies with the following errors. FYI I have tried this with both 4.3.7 and 4.3.6, they produce identical output, other than different directory names. I am including hte 4.3.6 version because it is still in my scrollback, but the 4.3.7 error was identical.

Also, source is installed in /usr/local/opt/development/src/php-4.3.7 and /usr/local/opt/development/src/php-4.3.6
I used the following configure, called from /usr/local/opt/development/build/php-4.3.7
> /usr/local/opt/development/src/php-4.3.7/configure \
--prefix=/usr/local/opt/testing/php-4.3.7 --with-apxs \
--with-openssl --with-zlib --with-bz2 --with-jpeg-dir \
--with-imap --with-imap-ssl --with-ldap \
--with-mysql=/usr/local --with-pgsql
and the same for 4.3.6, replacing 4.3.7 with 4.3.6.
This really feels like a incompatability with installed software, and omg this server has some issues, so I would not suspect. Any help in tracing what is conflicting would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks in advance all.
