[PHP-INSTALL] reconfiguring php 4.3.4 problem

I am currently trying to reconfigure my php (to add database support). When 
I ./configure it, and then make and install it, the phpinfo() page still 
doesn't show up my new options that I passed to it. I have read that it 
might have been the config.cache file, but still no luck. Also, the build 
date is still not correct. I know that it's looking at the new php.ini file 
I made though. Anyone know a way around this? I've been trying to get this 
working for almost a month with no luck (not to sound whiney or anything).
