The Oracle header files are part of the client installation, not the
database. Not sure if Oracle 9 automatically installs the client with
the database, but you may want to verify that the Oracle client is
installed on your server.

Hi,

Yes, it also could not find a header file, but I do not remember
which one it was off hand.... I cc'd the list on this, so that others
would know that I did try that rout. I also looked in the archive,
which also mentioned doing this, but none of the archive searches
I have done came up with an answer.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Douglas

Not sure if that is much help, but did you try this Oracle8 option?
--with-oci8=[dir]

Subject: [PHP-INSTALL] oracle compilation with php

Hi,

We are on Tru64 5.1 and I am trying to compile php 4.3.4. I get the
following error:

cc: Severe: /src/net/www/php-4.3.4/ext/oracle/php_oracle.h, line 23:
Cannot find f ile "ocidfn.h" specified in #include directive.
(noinclfilef) #include "ocidfn.h" -^

I cannot find this include file anywhere in the oracle installation or
the php installation. The oracle version is 9.2.0.1.0.

Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Douglas
