Actually, I'm using two hosts, one is apache and the
other is zeus but I'm slowly moving everything go the
apache host. I'll try what you suggested. Although,
I was wondering if you could link it like an external
css file, something like
link href=somefile.php
Probably not, haven't tried that but I'll try your
suggestion.
Thanks

Mike,
the only way to do it in HTML is using a META Refresh Tag. This
would load your HTML file and then redirect to the PHP file.
To do this, you have to include the following in your oldpage.htm:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;
URL=http://yourserver.com/newpage.php">
In this case it is wise to delete all other content from oldpage.htm
and just leave a "moved" notice and a link to newpage.php on it, just
so people don't get confused...
Joerg.

Mike,
the method discussed in this thread works only if the
original page already is a PHP page. Note that the
statement is included in <?php ... ?> brackets,
which indicates PHP code. It would not work in
HTML files.

I give up.
I've been trying to get PHP installed as a module with
Apache 2.0.43. I want to install it on my laptop
strickly for development purposes. Here's what I'm
doing:
The actors:
RedHat 7.3
PHP-4.3.0
Apache-2.0.43
The Stage:
HP OmniBook XE3
800MHz and some other stuff.
The scenario:
I install apache as follows:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/httpd-2.0.43
--enable-so
make
make install
Now everything seems like it works, but the last
couple of statements look like they don't work. I get
a Failure 1 on Initialize Recursive and the process
before that (but after installing the help files)
I go ahead and attempt to install php-4.3.0 anyway as
follows:
./configure
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/httpd-2.0.43/bin/apxs
--with-mysql --prefix=/usr/local/php-4.3.0
And I get an error that states that it can't verify
Apache 2 because of one of the following:
1) Perl not installed
2) Apache not compiled with --enable-so
3) Can't find apxs
Then it prints out the output of apxs (which is just
the usage menu)
Now because it prints out the usage menu it can't be
reason 1 or 3, so I'm guessing reason 2. But I don't
know what the apache errors mean.
I'm using PHP4.3.0 because of the info on
http://dan.drydog.com/apache2php.html
but I still can't install it.
I'm sorry I can't be more specific on the error codes
from Apahce, I don't have the laptop with me
currently, but can anyone shed some light on the
situation?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

The solution (and the only time I got php to compile on RH():
Uninstall all php-related RPMs
Remove any ghost files (due to pear)
Rebuild from SRPM
You may end up installing a bunch of *-devel packages, but other than that, at
least I'm linked back to Postgres 7.3 libraries...
Now to figure out how to get 4.3.0 to build on RH8...

php 4.2.3
Some basic help and pointers to howto's please
ISP has display error turned off
Being a novice php guy I need to see my errors.
Can you point me to a howto somewhere that shows me what to
do to create an error log file I can view easily.
I have tried http://www.phpclasses.org errorhandler and was not able to get
it to work.
I am working with jpGraph and it needs GD FreeType Support
which the ISP will not enable
They say I can do this thru php CGI.
Need a howto that shows me how to step thru building php CGI
Do I build a min php just for FreeType or build complete php
and use CGI only?. How do pages access CGI over apache php
thanks

When i do "make install" shows this error:
Installing PHP SAPI module
/usr/local/apache2/build/instdso.sh
SH_LIBTOOL='/usr/local/apache2/build/libtool' libphp4.la
/usr/local/apache2/modules

/usr/local/apache2/build/libtool --mode=install cp libphp4.la

vía de acceso no existe.

If i edit instdso.sh, remove rm -f /usr/local/apache2/modules/libphp4.so
line and cp libphp4.so to /usr/local/apache2/modules all go fine , but this
error continue:
libtool: install: warning: remember to run `libtool --finish
/software2/php5-200301091353/libs'
I have probed with php-4.2.2,4.2.3,4.3.0, php4-x. and php5-200301091353, but
the result is the same.

redhat linux 7.3
apache 1.3.27
mysql 3.23.49
php 4.0.4pl1 (static install)
mod_ssl-2.8.12
the box had php 4.2.3 installed on it originally.
we had a mysql application that would only run
with php version 4.0.4pl1 so we installed the
old version of php and everything worked.
then we ran autorpm with the 'interactive' setting
(just downloading and not auto installing) and the
application broke. when I run debug_phpinfo it
says version 4.2.3. we have reinstalled php
version 4.0.4pl1 and debug_phpinfo still says
version 4.2.3 and the app. remains broken. yes
we copied the php.ini file after the install.
we checked the new php binary and its definitely
version 4.0.4pl1. we're pulling our hair out.
what are we doing wrong/do we have yet to do?
thanks!

Hello everybody!!! I'm writing to you to ask if somebody knows how can I do to
emulate the examine button to retrive a file's path to save that string in the
database. Specifically, it's a photo, that've got to search in the directory's window.
Thanks in advance!!!!!
