i also try the package of php as rpm but it also can't working.
it give an error on so files
it give error when i install php-4.0.6-7.i386.rpm
failed dependencies
libcurl.so
libcurl.so.1
libdb-3.2.so
so how i remove that error.
and what i install to remove that dependencies.

imap dll then imap dll can't be added in php
but other module who configure while configuring is added.

i fell down in everycase either the package is rpm as i send already mai or

Because this function has been removed or has changed between releases.
Before the rm -rf /* ;), downgrade to gd 2.01/1.8x or use RC1/snapshots
with bundled GD or with the latest GD.

Do you compile apache yourselft or used RPMs ? If you ve used RPMS,
install devel packages too.
btw, for the bundled gd with RC1 simply use '--with-gd' (without any
property.
