I have installed Apache and php.
I can run normal html page from the server (localhost) and my hello
world.php works fine on the server but when I try to run the phpinfo script
the it comes up with a "Internal server error". I look in the error logs,
and it stats "[Sun Nov 10 20:50:18 2002] [error] [client 127.0.0.1]
Premature end of script headers: c:/php/php.exe" Also more complex script
then the hello world comes with the same error.
Hope somebody can help me

OS
Windows XP Profession (With Service Pack 1, fully up to date)
Running
- Abyss 1X
- PHP 4.2.3
- MySQL 3.23.53-max-nt
The Problem
On startup, the computer loads fine. The webserver can be connected to via
http://scryt.no-ip.com and the site works fine. Access from any PC on and
off the network works perfectly. However, after a varying period of time,
the computer will completely crash and self restart. Windows will report
that a critical error occured which it 'recovered' from.
Below are logs created by Windows and Abyss messuring system performance
just before the crash, the cause of which eludes me.

After this point, both log files contain total rubbish.

Okay, I give up. I had no idea what could be causing it. Anyone got any
ideas/want more infomation? I am pretty certain this is an Abyss issue, but
it only happens when using PHP in combination with.
Before you tell me to change server:
Xitami - Has some issues with php, especially with phpBB login page
Apache - OMG, I couldn't understand how to change its settings or anything.
Not user friendly. Full stop
IIS - Works fine, but has a limit on users so gives alot of 403:9 errors
(too many users). This stopped one person from connecting completely

Hi.
I am using Windows 98se, Apache 2.0.43 and PHP 4.2.3. I the followed the
steps in instalation manual.
1) I first installed Apache and it is work well.
2) I put the PHP unziped files in a directory C:\php4.
3) I copied the php4ts.dll file in C:\windows\system.
4) I renamed php.ini-recommended to php.ini and copied to c:\windows.
5) I edited httpd.conf in the apache directory and added the following lines
LoadModule php4_module c:/php/php4apache2.dll
AddModule mod_php4.c
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Finaly, I started the apache server again and I got the message,
Apache.exe: module "c:\php4build\snap\sapi\apache2filter\sapi_apache2.c" is
not
compatible with this version of Apache (found 20020628 need 20020903).
Please contact the vendor for correct version.
Thanks for any help,

You say you're not bitter, but it doesn't sound that way.
Remember, no one is getting paid to do this. Some questions just go
unanswered, sorry. All you can do is rephrase and ask again or ask
somewhere else.
But, thank you for posting the solution you did eventually find. That
will be of assistance if anyone ever searches the archives before
posting...
Hey, I can dream, can't I??

php.CONF? Is that some distribution-specific file? It's not a PHP thing
and thus would not be documented by us.

Hey, everyone. I had a small problem, was hoping someone could enlighten me.
Relatively new PHP user, so it's quite possible this is something silly.
Check out the following page, if you would:
http://www.berkeleyhigh.org/cgi-bin/mt/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=49
That's a page generated by CGI, with a snippet of PHP in the head. What's
the problem? Well, it's not parsing. Check out the source; it's just sitting
there, being obstinate.
What's funny is that every other page (every single one) on the site have
the exact same code, and they all parse just fine. It's very simple code,
too; it just reflects a change made on this page:
http://www.berkeleyhigh.org/customize/ and prints the appropriate line to
determine which style sheet it should be using.
Since this is the only page on the site that does this (well, all of the
comments pages do this, but they're the same thing, really), what I'm
tempted to think is that it's somehow related to the fact that this page has
a .cgi label. Maybe. Or maybe not. Maybe I'm just being stupid.
Yeesh, I don't know. Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance,
- Brandon Oto
