I chose to use the Windows installer, but several question arise. It states
that it does not install any extensions. Do I need to do this? Then How?
The installation instructions for the installer are light and the
instructions on the manual install are confusing. The installer did not
come with any extensions.

I have read some of the threads and one in particular from Mr I states that
all I need to do after the install is start using it even with out the
server. But when I typed in "c:\php\php.exe index.php" it gave me an error
concerning no "extensions.inc".

I am experimenting with this in hopes of coming up with a BBS for our HOG
Chapter. Any help would be appreciated.

cd /usr/lib
ln -s libmysqlclient.so.10.0.0 libmysqlclient.so

Hi, when compiling PHP with Apache2 on FreeBSD, I get with the following
line:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 \
  --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-tsrm-pth --with-mysql \
&& make -DHAVE_GD_GIF=NO

Making all in apache2filter
/bin/sh /disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/libtool --silent
--mode=compile gcc -I.
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/sapi/apache2filter
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/main
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2 -I/usr/local/apache2/include
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/Zend
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/ext/mysql/libmysql
-I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/ext/xml/expat -D_REENTRANT
-D_THREAD_SAFE -I/disks/ibm18/server-src/php-4.2.2-apache2/TSRM
-I/usr/local/include/pth -DTHREAD=1 -g -O2 -pthread -DZTS -prefer-pic -c
php_functions.c
php_functions.c:93: syntax error
*** Error code 1

I'm using Apache 2.0.39, PHP 4.2.2 and FreeBSD 4.6. I know it sais Apache2
support is experimental, but come on, syntax errors doesn't make it
experimental, it makes it fail. So I'm quite sure this is not the problem,
and I'd like suggestions on how to get this up and running.

Cheers

        Nik

2.0.39 was released after PHP 4.2 and they changed the API. You will need
current CVS versions of both PHP and Apache to make it work.

Hi,

i'm trying to compile OCI8 support on PHP-4.2.2.2, on Redhat 7.2 but i get
an error that says that something like this: 'the dword type is not
defined'.
I have suceffuly installed the same Oracle version 8.0.2 on PHP-4.2.1 on a
Suse 7.x box.
I have also read at google that this is a header file version problem.

We dont have any version later that 8.0.2. We are using OCI8 to connect to
a 7.x server.
I have inspected the source code of oci8.c and found that the problem
apears on parts of code that contains cast's to dword pointers.
Is there any other safe type that i case use intead of the dword type?

If any one have another solution other that mine, please share it.

Thanks

Miguel Carvalho
