Howdy. Reading on the list the many problems that people seem to have, I tried thinkering with the options some more. I added the following to my configure:
./configure --without-mysql --with-apxs2=/home/httpd/bin/apxs The: --without-mysql Is the addition. I wanted to see if that made a difference. Unfortunately, it doesn't. I still run into the same problem: /bin/sh /root/php-4.2.1/libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -I. - I/root/php-4.2.1/sapi/apache2filter -I/root/php-4.2.1/main -I/root/php- 4.2.1 -I/home/httpd/include -I/root/php-4.2.1/Zend -I/root/php- 4.2.1/ext/xml/expat -D_REENTRANT -I/root/php-4.2.1/TSRM -g -O2 - pthread -DZTS -prefer-pic -c php_functions.c php_functions.c:93: parse error make[3]: *** [php_functions.lo] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/root/php-4.2.1/sapi/apache2filter' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/php-4.2.1/sapi/apache2filter' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/php-4.2.1/sapi' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 Any suggestions? I'm running the latest Apache2 and the latest PHP4 on Slackware 2.2.16. So far, sadly, I've seen more problems posted on the list than answers, so I hope--in a way--that this is just a problem with this current release of PHP.
