This is probably totally incorrect, but I see mention of "krb5" in the error, I'm pretty sure this is the kerberos 5 encryption library and ofcourse this may be a totally acceptable error since as far as I know "krb5" is not required, but just out of curiosity, have you tried rebooting since your RPM install (yes I know you shouldn't have to) and what is your complete configure line for PHP?
