MySQL server 3.23.49 OS Linux Slackware 8.0 I compiled PHP 4.2 with MySQL support but it can't connect to the database, it was working OK with PHP 4.1.2. I then tried to use the full path to the MySQL client( if for some reason the packed client is outdated?) but it didn't work neither. When I build PHP 4.1.2 again it worked. The problem arises when connecting to the database - I thought it may be a problem with PEAR::DB but the native MySQL connect() doesn't work.
