Hi Joey, Don't know whether I can help, but I ran into the same problem with my Linux box. In Mozilla et al, I had to change in "Preferences > Advanced > Proxies > Manual Proxy Config >> No proxy for: Localhost".
I haven't followed your thead, and I'm no familair with networking, butthta might steer you in a new direction. It worked for me while I'm protyping my site.
