Damn, this is hard. I'm running Linux 7.1, apache_1.3.19 , php-4.1.1. Everything seems to have been installed fine, without a hitch, but I still can't get my browser to recognise a php page called phpinfo.php with the following script <? phpinfo.php ?> like it should. all the configure , make , and make files directives seemed to work fine. it's been a week I've been working on this, a real nightmare. I got it running once a while back, it seemed so much easier somehow, but now it's like impossible with PHP4 .
