you shouldn't get any html codes, when it works correctly. simply an empty screen....What you've seen is the screen with error 404....

The install manual asks specifically to place php.ini.dist into the winnt folder, and then rename it to php.ini. I ran the command "php.exe -i" in the d:\php4\ folder and I saw a screen full of html codes so it does work. I really don't know what else could be wrong here.
