I am trying to compile 4.0.4pl1 against mySQL 3.23.36.
The build in library seems to be having issues so I wanted to make sure I
built it against the libraries that were made when I build mySQL.
I used the following configure line:
./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
--with-mysql=/usr/local/src/mysql-3.23.36/
This fails complaining it can't find mysqlclient library under
/usr/local/src/mysql-3.23.36
A locate on mysqlclient shows it in /usr/local/lib/mysql
I added that to my ld.so.conf and ran ldconfig.
Still can't find it.
I tried this configure line as well:
./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
--with-mysql=/usr/local/lib/mysql
That failed complaining it couldn't find the headers...
Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

hi leutz, ich hab seit neuestem auf einem rechner hier linux 7 installiert.
die cd hab ich von einem freund auseliehen gehabt. ich selbst habe nur die
6.2 auf cd. ich wollte jetzt php installieren, hab aber ehrlich gesagt
keinen blassen schimmer, welche version von php ich runter laden soll. die
win32 binaries ja net ;-), aber wie kompiliere ich den source-code oder was
das ist?
auf meiner linux installcd ist zwar php auch drauf, aber nur die 3er von
php... und irgendwie läuft die net?!? kann mir jemand helfen?
hi guys, i've just installed redhat linus 7. i borowed the cd from a friend
because i have redhat 6.2. i wanted to install php but i don't know wich
version i should download, but i guess not one of the win32 binaries ;-)...
but how can i compile the source-code?
on my linux cd is a php-module 3 on it but it doesn't work?!?. can someone
help me?

Have you tried to read php manual? and INSTALL file in source?
http://www.php.net/manual/en/
If you take a look at them, you should be able to compile PHP by yourself.
If you have compile problem, post again.
