Check with rpm if you really installed PHP4 in your system. If it is, check if
mod_php4.so is in correct location. If it is, check your httpd.conf. Refer to
PHP Manual to know how to edit httpd.conf.

Hi,
I'm installing php 4 by the rpm. I have apache server which came along with
Red Hat 7. Now as per insturctions, I tried to restart apache, it fails saying
mod_php.so not found. When I loaded it in /etc/httpd/modules/ , it says
---Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/mod_php.so into server: libgd.so.1: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory. Do I have to run rpms for
all these missing files too?

Hi i am running redhat 7.0 with apache 1.3.19 (installed from source into /etc/httpd)
and i am trying to install php4.0.4pl1. I am enabling mysql support for mysql
(mysql-3.23.24 from rpm)

I installed the following rpms before i started

libxml-1.7.3
libxml-devel-1.7.3
libxml2-devel-2.3.5
libxml2-2.3.5

i then cd'd to the php directory and did

"./configure" \
"--prefix=/etc/httpd" \
"--enable-trans-sid" \
"--with-mysql" \
"--with-magic-quotes" \
"--with-apxs" \
"--with-dom=/usr/lib" \
"--with-qtdom=/usr/lib" \

(this is config.nice)

which didnt return any (obvious) errors - the same command above piped to grep -i xml
returns this

checking for libxml version... >= 2.2.7
checking for libz needed by libxml ... already zlib support
checking for XML support... yes
creating ext/domxml/Makefile
creating ext/xml/Makefile
creating ext/xml/expat/Makefile
creating ext/xml/expat/xmlparse/Makefile
creating ext/xml/expat/xmltok/Makefile

and the same with grep -i dom returns this

checking for yp_get_default_domain... no
checking for random... yes
checking for srandom... yes
checking for DOM support... yes
checking for DOM in default path... found in /usr
checking whether to include QDOM support... checking for readline support... no
creating ext/domxml/Makefile

everything seems ok (is the qdom the same as qtdom?) ?!?! (yes i am deleting
config.cache)

i then do make and make install which again produces no errors. I then do a config
test on the new apache which returns the following error...

Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so into server: undefined symbol:
xmlDocSetRootElement

i noticed from the CVS that this function was uncommented - in the last release - is
there an error in it??? i dont know any c++ so im stuck here

Please help me before i lose it totally :-)

Its ok - i tried removing the libxml-devel-1.7.3 and removed the libxml2* files and
installed libxml2 2.2.8 (with the devel) and it seems to work...

Maybe an error in 2.3.5??

Hi everyone,

for a little while now, I am at times receiving an e-mail with an
attached virus, the virus is of the "worm" category and self replicates
and sends out e-mails with some text about "snowhite and dwarfs" and a
file attachment (scr) to e-mail addresses in the person's address book.
It seems to me that perhaps some list members' computer may be
infected and is sending out these mails.

Here's some information which I found with details about this virus,
and also info on how to remove it if your PC is infected ...

_____________________________________________
Hybris (Also known as Win32.Hybris)
Win32.Hybris is an e-mail worm which modifies WSOCK32.DLL to intercept
outgoing messages in a manner similar to Happy99 (which is also known
as
SKA).

When run, the worm makes a copy of WSOCK32.DLL in the Windows System
directory. The copy will have a random, 8 character name with no
extension.
The worm "infects" this copy by patching the functions used for
connecting,
and the sending and receiving of data.

The worm modifies WININIT.INI in the Windows directory, so that the
original
WSOCK32.DLL will be replaced with the modified copy the next time
Windows is
restarted.

>From this point, when the user sends an e-mail, the worm will send an
additional message to the same address with a copy of itself attached.
The
subject of the worm's message is:

"Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs - The REAL story!"

The body of the message contains the following text (including the
spelling
mistakes):

"Today, Snowhite was turning 18. The 7 Dwarfs always where very
educated and
polite with Snowhite. When they go out work at mornign, they promissed
a
*huge* surprise. Snowhite was anxious. Suddlently, the door open, and
the
Seven Dwarfs enter..."

The name of the attachment is variable, and has an extension of either
.EXE
or .SCR.

The latest IPE program includes cleaning for the Wsock32.dll, though if
you
cannot access our download site to update IPE then you will need to
manually
replace this file as follows.

The WSOCK32.DLL file must be restored from backup. This can be done by:

Windows 98
- Click START | RUN, type SFC and click OK.
- Choose Extract one file from the installation disk
- Type C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL in the box and click Start.
- In the Restore from box type C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS or browse to the
Win98 directory on your Windows98 CD-ROM
- Click OK and follow remaining prompts

Windows95
- Click START | SHUT DOWN choose RESTART IN MS-DOS MODE
- Type: EXTRACT /A C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS\WIN95_11.CAB WSOCK32.DLL /L
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
or
- Insert your Windows95 CD-ROM and type:
EXTRACT /A D:\WIN95\WIN95_11.CAB WSOCK32.DLL /L C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM Where
D:
is your CD-ROM drive

I trust this helps, and that you can take a look to make sure that your
PC is not infected ... or else take the steps to remove the virus.

Have a good day.

God bless you with His grace and peace

Yes, that it is - sorry for the confusion; I changed the name to match the

Hi,

problem with php_oci8.h during make after

configure --with-apxs=/opt/apache/bin/apxs --with-oci8=<path>

it appears that a struct with the name OCIServer is referenced here but not
defined.

Where is OCIServer defined? or where can I get a functional php_oci8.h ?

Has anyone successfully installed php (any version) for use with apache and
oracle8 on hpux?

thanks

Howdy. I am curious if anyone can expand a bit on the following config
file entries and what are approriate values for them.

safe_mode_exec_dir

For a system running under safe_mode that does not wish to allow *any*
access to raw system level commands (i.e. we do not wish to allow
system("cat /etc/passwd| mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]") type calls), should
this be left blank or set to something like "/bin/false"?

sql.safe_mode

I could find no documentation for this variable. What exactly does it do
if enabled?

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers,

Ron
