I have installed php-4.0.4pl1 on my LinuxPPC server, along with apache 1.3.19. I have done quite a few installs of both in the past, but this problem has me stumped. Platform is LinuxPPC. As an example, I have created the following script: <?php echo "<HTML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY>\n"; if ($type == "1") { echo "You typed 1\n"; } elseif ($type == "2") { echo "You typed 2\n"; } elseif ($type == "3") { echo "You typed 3\n"; } else { echo "You typed in nothing\nthe value of TYPE is $type"; } echo "</BODY></HTML>"; ?> On a PC with RedHat 7, this works as expected, i.e. if I use the following URL in my browser: http://hostname/direct.php?type=1 the output is "You typed 1" However, on my Mac 8600 running LinuxPPC, I get "You typed in nothing the value of TYPE is " no matter what I enter. PHP was built using apxs, and I've tried it with and without gettext. any ideas?
