SQL Server ISNULL takes two arguments, CheckField, And ReplacementValue SELECT ISNULL(t.Task, 0) FROM Users u LEFT JOIN Tasks t ON t.UserID = u.UserID; instead of returning <NULL> where a Userid has no tasks, it would return 0.
