While this works pretty well under Windows, it does not work on the Mac. A new window will be generated with the requested properties except for the menus thing. The Mac UI always has the menu at the top of the screen and are not associated with a particular window, they are tied to the application. So if I'm on a Mac and I want to see the URL, I just select "View"->"Address Bar".
This gets into the whole security through obscurity is not security at all.
