Y'know? I started fiddling with the drill-down I had made and found that the thing only worked on the latest Mozilla. Seems the developers made the same mistake I did in what <input type="image" ...> is supposed to do. Looks great on one browser :-)
I wound up with another alternative: a folder view with "wayback's" to ascend in the tree. The code that works better on all browsers can be seen on http://www.jwfarrell.com/listtree.php. I'll make the code and support files available to anyone who wants a copy.
