I've had a hunt through the mail archives but can't find a definite answer:
Is Apache 2.0.x and PHP 4.2.x/4.3.x on Linux a viable proposition yet in a production environment? I guess the diversity of experiences described in the archives probably means no, but what is the current opinion?
