FYI

This example does not return the expected result.

Accessing:
http://server.com/empty.phtml?variable

Then:
<?php

if(!empty($variable)){
        echo TRUE;
}

?>

Will never print TRUE according to the example.  The "isset()" function is
likely better suited for this person's purposes.
