=ok, so why not display a stripped down first page which displays "LOADING" etc, and 
which then immediately calls
another page, ie the one that does the heavy processing?

=the timed redirect is managed through a HTML meta-tag. I've used it with native-HTML 
pages, but not tried to specify a
.PHP page (yet)
