Here is my ISPs comments on the advice from Rasmus:

So it looks that Rasmus was right when he said:

My ISPs are pretty serious guys, and they do RTFM. So if they don't
understand this, I suspect the problem is pretty widespread.

Perhaps the documentation group could take a look at this? Nice to know it's
a documentation issue and not a basic problem with the architecture - much
easier to put right!
