Eclipse and Netbeans (now it may look like I'm pushing Java) have offerings to allow us developers to build upon -- not just apps, but tools. I think that's a good thing. "Don't reinvent the wheel" is another good practice to build upon the work of others. Where would this forum be without the web? Where would the web be without the internet? Where would the internet be without Al Gore? ;-P Where would Debian be without Linus? Where would Linus be without GNU?
