tedd, I don't find your implementation hard to read. There are implementations where zeros and Ohs are used and it typically takes several tries to get it right.
http://www.nals2007.org/ shows how I just captured a single image and then hid the email address. I'd like to see a spambot reap that address. Gotta be a pretty smart bot...
