I'm trying to understand function definitions and can't seem to find any reference to the meaning of (PHP 4 >= 4.0.1, PHP 5) or variations there of, shown at the beginning of each definition. I get the idea it is telling me that the particular function is supported in PHP 4 & 5. But what does the >= mean? Also what is this line of the definition called (i.e. version support, edited ???)
