So now I am out of ideas and was wondering if anyone here had any.
We're getting a little OT, but it's possible that a bookmarklet (a JavaScript bookmark) installed on all browsers you use could act as the method of grabbing the existing URL, and passing it to another URL (your bookmark server) as a GET or POST var.
