Do not use the global list for your discussion !!!!!
These lists are for discussion, not just for asking for help. The point of sending answers to the list is to let EVERYONE know the answer. Otherwise, you get everyone asking the same question. Of course, we get lots of the same questions anyway, but whatever.
I use the newsgroup version of the list so that I don't get all sorts of extra e-mail. I highly recommend it. news.php.net
